The drumming session is an activity the focus of which is to develop community through music. Through the study of several traditional drumming rhythms of the Spanish speaking Caribbean, congregants/participants will be able to express their spirits through music – guided by the instrumentation and musical arrangement that governs the structure of the rhythms that will be presented. The goal will be to link participants’ focused musicality, weaving it together with others to create a rhythm together – otherwise known as “making music” – and with that all the meditative and spiritual contentedness that come with pursuing this communal goal.
