It seems very strange to be preparing for the holidays knowing we will not be together physically. Usually about now we would be preparing the building: opening the wall in the back of the sanctuary, setting up chairs and laying out machzorim.
Of course, we wish we could be together. But we know that preserving our health and the health of our community takes precedence over our desire to gather even on a holy day. Instead, therefore, we are working hard to prepare our Cybershul for the New Year. We are excited to offer you a rich array of services and programs for all ages and interests.
No, it will not be the same. But Beth El is more than a building. It is a community. Our virtual gatherings will provide both new and familiar ways of learning, davening and connecting with one another. They will elicit many of the special feelings we associate with the Yamim Noraim (Days of Awe).
Please take a moment to explore our Virtual High Holy Day Hub – there is a lot of engaging content! Here you will find all of the different service and learning opportunities available. You can sort services by day (Rosh Hashanah, Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur) and connect to each opportunity directly from the Hub. We will continue to add music and High Holy Day reflections from the congregation as we approach Rosh Hashanah. Zoom and connection information will be added for each experience in the coming weeks. Are you new to Zoom? Find a brief tutorial on how to get started HERE.
May 5781 be a good, healthy year for you and your family.
Shanah Tovah!
