Cantor Wendi Fried hails originally from Houston, Texas and was brought up through the Conservative movement including Kadima, USY, Nativ, Ramah, and JTS. Being a spiritual leader in today’s complex world is a challenge Cantor Wendi understands and addresses by balancing the needs of many generations with the use of traditional and modern approaches to prayer and spirituality. She has included this approach in her daily activities as well as special programs and classes. Multigenerational programs include Laila Tov with Cantor Wendi and friends, Hebrew Word of the Day, B’MAZEL (program for B’nai Mitzvah and their families), co-writing and directing congregational Purim Spiels, organization and participation in Interfaith panels, concerts, and services. She is most proud of her 3 boys, Nadav (12), Yoni (7) and Rafi (7) and her incredible husband, Gigi, whom she met at Ramah Wisconsin when he came over with the mishlachat in 2001! Together the family loves anything Marvel, traveling to new places, the beach, going to the zoo, aquarium (anything with animals!) and long bike rides.
