Rabbi Rachel Simmons is thrilled to visit the Beth El community. Originally hailing from Alexandria, VA, Rabbi Simmons spent time living in Costa Rica, Germany, and Austria before converting to Judaism in Washington, DC and then moving to Los Angeles to attend the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies. Rabbi Simmons loves facilitating mikveh and other life-cycle rituals, singing in community around the Shabbat dinner table, reading Sci-fi and fantasy novels, and hanging out with her two rescue cats, Kohelet and Galilee. She is a curious and compassionate listener, a spirited advocate for justice and interfaith work, and a firm believer that in the end, we are all walking each other home. Come ready to join Rabbi Simmons as we wrestle with our tradition, learn from one another, and lift our voices and hearts in song!
