A conversation with Cantor Ben Tisser and Cantor Herschel Fox
Wednesday, October 25 | 7:00 pm | via Zoom (link to follow)
Jewish jokes have become pervasive in American culture. They shaped how we see ourselves, and as well, how broader society sees us. Historically, Jewish humor was a unique brand of comedy that created stereotypes of husbands and wives, dealt with sex and relationships, and laughed at all of the societal stereotypes imposed on Jews. For over fifty years, Cantor Herschel Fox has led a diverse career as a theatre actor, standup comedian, Cantor, and international performer.
Join Cantors Tisser and Fox for a conversation about the history and changing nature of Jewish comedy, and enjoy a preview of Cantor Fox’s performance at our upcoming Borscht Belt Cabaret (November 1).
